Former racing driver who has been represented by Genoa Racing, Sam Schmidt Motorsports, and AFS Racing. He is perhaps best known for his 2004 season, in which he captured six wins from the pole. Although his initial attempts to qualify for the IndyCar Series in 2005 were thwarted, he was able to make the cut the following year. Despite experiencing an electrical problem, he still successfully finished the race.
Before Fame
He launched his professional racing career in 1999, racing for several years in Fórmula Three Sudamericana championships in his hometown of São Paulo. In the year 2003, he made his move to the US to enter the Infiniti Pro Series, earning his first victory at Texas Motor Speedway.
Trivia
He officially retired from racing in the year 2007. He relocated to Dubai, UAE, where he commenced a new career as a helicopter pilot.
Family Life
In a 2003 interview for Crash.net, he stated that his mother worried about the dangers of his participation in such a high-risk sport. He expressed, however, that his entire family was very supportive of his dreams.
