Before Fame
He had an interest in music from a young age. He began participating in rap battles and making beats while in high school. He formed the music duo Black Lion in 2012. He released his first hit single "Assets" in 2013.

Family Life
His real name is Errol "Kemar" Thompson. He was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. His mother is reggae singer Marcia Griffiths and his father Errol Thompson Sr. was also a musician. He moved to Miami, Florida to pursue his music after high school.
