About
Former Sri Lankan netball player who was a standout member of the Sri Lanka national netball team. She won gold medals with the national team at the 2009, 2018, and 2022 Asian Netball Championships. She became the oldest ever player to appear in a World Cup after she competed at the 2023 Netball World Cup at the age of 44. After the 2023 World Cup, she decided to officially retire from Team Sri Lanka.
Before Fame
She grew up during the Sri Lankan Civil War. At that time, her family house was damaged. She moved to Batticaloa with her family at the age of 20. She obtained her bachelor of arts degree in economics from the Eastern University Sri Lanka.
Trivia
In the year 2011, she won the World's Best Shooter Award. During the Maldives Sports Awards 2022, she won the Sports Icon Award. In the year 2022, she was also recognized as the tallest netball player in the world, standing at a height of 6 feet 9 inches.

Growing up, she was the fifth of six children.
