American computer programmer best known for his work on the open-source operating system, TempleOS. He designed the system to be easy to understand and modify, with a focus on educating users about the underlying principles of operating system design. He conceived the idea in the early 2000s and developed it independently over the course of ten years. He died in 2018 after being struck by a train at age 48.
