Australian rules professional football player who is best known for having played for Footscray in the Victorian Football League. He is best known for his larrikin streak and for having had the Footscray Football Club's home ground the Whitten Oval named after him.
Before Fame
He started his career in 1951 when he made his debut with the Footscray club. Later on in 1956 he went on to play for the Victoria club within the Interstate Football League. Then in 1957 he started his coaching career as part of the Footscray club.
Trivia
He is known for having been one of the twelve inaugural legends inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame. He is also known for having been the Footscray leading goal kicker during the 1961, 1962, 1964, and 1968 seasons.

He was born in Braybrook and was raised in Footscray in Melbourne.
