Indian chef, food writer, and host of various cooking shows. She wrote over 180 books, from cook books to food critique, selling more than 10 million copies. Her two most well-known cooking shows were The Tarla Dalal Show and Cook It Up with Tarla Dalal. Today, her recipes and work still lives on under her brand.
Before Fame
She began conducting cooking classes from her home in Mumbai in 1966 before publishing her first cook book.
Trivia
She ran India's largest food web site, Cooking & More. In 2007, she was awarded the Padma Shri, a national civilian award, by the Indian government for her work in the culinary arts. She became known for helping to introduce foreign cuisines into the homes of others.
Family Life
She married her husband Nalin Dalal in 1960. Together, they had three children named Sanjay, Deepak, and Renu.
