Before Fame
She was honored as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts during high school where she also received 3 Gold medals in the NAACP ACT-SO competition. In her early 20s, she began singing with jazz legend Lee Ritenour and Grammy-nominee Tamia. Then she created Syren Music Group, LLC, through which she released her independent album My Name is Tamar in 2011.
