An American author and philanthropist, she is best known as the wife of horror fiction writer Stephen King. Her own novels in the fantasy, horror, and science fiction genres include Caretakers (1983) and One on One (1993).
Before Fame
She attended the University of Maine, where she first met Stephen King in the campus library. She published her first novel, Small World, in 1981.
Trivia
She served on the boards of both the Bangor Public Library and the Maine Public Broadcasting System, and she fought for children's literacy and women's rights.
Family Life
She had three children with Stephen King. Her daughter, Naomi, was born in 1970, and two sons-- Joseph and Owen--were born in 1972 and 1977, respectively.

Like Sonia Greene, the wife of H.P. Lovecraft, Tabitha King was inspired by her husband's tales of horror.
