Before Fame
She studied Law and Arts at the University of Western Australia. She began her broadcasting and media career working as an anchor for ABC Radio in Perth, Australia in 1974. She and her news partner Rick Ardon began working together at 7NEWS on January 24th, 1985.
Trivia
She was the first female TV newsreader for ABC in Perth. She was awarded the Logie Award for Most Popular Female Personality Western Australia in 1986. She was part of a team sent to South Africa to report the historic first all-race elections post-Apartheid in the year 1994.

She was born in Essex, England. Her family moved to Australia when she was just seven months old.
