Music producer, drummer, musical director, and playback singer for Indian feature films such as Jai Hind, Coolie, and Love Today. His song "Chikku Bukku Railae" from the 1993 film Gentleman became one of the most popular songs in Tamil history. His ability to sing and create music in 5 Indian languages has helped him establish his substantial following. He is also known for creating musical jingles for commercial advertising, for brands such as Coke, Pepsi, and Ford Motors.

Before Fame

He began performing music early on in his life, and he earned numerous awards for his drumming while attending high school and college. After graduating from college, he began working in film and advertising before committing to a full-time career in music.

Trivia

He earned the Prestigious Award for Creative Arts in the field of Music from the Tamil Nadu State Government in 1998. In 2000, he also won the Best Music Director Filmfare Award.

He was close childhood friends with composer AR Rahman.
