Before Fame
When he was growing up, he was fascinated by the work of his neighbor, the renowned actor and playwright Ajitesh Bandhopadhyay. Inspired to pursue a career in the theatre, Chatterjee went on to study at the National Theater Institute in Connecticut and to earn his PhD from New York University's famous Tisch School of the Arts.
Trivia
A professor as well as a writer and theater artist, he served on the arts faculties at Tufts University; the University of California, Berkeley; and Loughborough University.
Family Life
The son of teachers Sisir and Tripti Chatterjee, he grew up with two older siblings.
