Before Fame
He was employed by architect Rudolf Lubinsky from 1920 until 1922. He opened his own firm in 1927. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Zagreb, from 1927 until 1931.
Trivia
He claimed to be a proponent of low-cost housing; however, he frequently designed luxurious villas.

His family was residing in Zagreb when he was born, which was a center for the arts and culture.
