Politician who became the 5th President of North Macedonia in 2019. He has served as the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Analysis and Research Administration, as well as Deputy Minister of Public Relations. He also served on 2 presidential cabinets prior to his own incumbency, and from 2004 to 2005, he oversaw the State Election Commission.
Before Fame
He graduated from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1987. He later went on to earn his master's and his Ph.D. in political science from the university. After graduating, he worked as a trainee in a law office until he earned a position as a security analyst for the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Trivia
He became the recipient of Poland's highest honor of merit, the Grand Cross of the Order of the White Eagle, in October 2022.
Family Life
His family originally hails from the city of Galičnik. Both of his parents were teachers. His wife, Elizabeta Gjorgievska, is a medical doctor and professor. They have a son named Ognen.
