Before Fame
Before beginning his screen acting career, he studied at Kent State University and Los Angeles City College and received additional acting training through Harvey Lembeck's Comedy Workshop.

He starred as Andy Steigler in the 1981 film Steigler and Steigler.
Family Life
He grew up in Canton, Ohio and later settled in Los Angeles, California. Tragically, he died of AIDS in his early thirties.
Associated With
He was a close friend of his Little House on the Prairie co-star Alison Arngrim. The actress, who played Tracy's character's wife (Nellie Oleson) in the series, became an AIDS awareness and prevention activist following Tracy's 1986 death.
