Immensely experienced and dedicated musician who earned worldwide renown after becoming a semi-finalist on The Voice Australia Season 2. Following his beloved performance on the reality competition series, he released his album "Leave Me Dreaming," which featured original songs such as "Walking These Streets" as well as covers of classic favorites including "All of Me" by John Legend and "Magic" by Coldplay.
Before Fame
In the 1960's, he performed alongside Jimi Hendrix on Sunset Boulevard, and eventually travelled to Europe to make music his life's purpose. For 20 years, he and 17 bandmates formed a musical group called American Gypsy which became the voice of African American soul in Europe and toured alongside such musical greats as Chaka Khan, Kool & the Gang, and Carlos Santana. Some of his albums prior to his appearance on The Voice include "Temple of Love" (2000), "New Beach Road" (2004), and "Soul Story" (2014).
Trivia
His renditions of "Walking in Memphis," "God Bless the Child," "Just the Two of Us," "New York State of Mind," and "Sunday in Savannah" all entered the Australian Recording Industry Association music charts following his performance of the titles on their respective episodes. His inaugural tour following his appearance on The Voice Australia sold out 20 shows within record time.
Family Life
His mother celebrated her 103rd birthday shortly after his participation on The Voice Australia. He credits her with introducing him to jazz legends like Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Carmen McRae.
