About

Famous for being a prolific goal scorer. He spent the majority of his career playing for Derby County and Middlesbrough. He is part of the Football League 100 Legends and English Football Hall of Fame. After retiring as a player, he worked as a coach. He also fought in World War I and was detained at Ruhleben internment camp.

As a youth, he played for St. Chad's Juniors and the Derby Swifts. 

Trivia

A song called "Steve Bloomer's Watchin" is the club anthem for Derby County Football Club. There is also a bust of him on display at Pride Park Stadium in Derby, England.

He was born in in Cradley, Worcestershire. His father, Caleb Bloomer, was a blacksmith. His mother, Merab Dunn, had five other children.
