Stephen Trask

About

Musician and composer best known for writing the music and lyrics for the stage musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The musical went on to be performed on Broadway and inspired its feature film revival in 2001. He has also composed the score for numerous additional films, including Dreamgirls, Little Fockers, and Lovelace. He currently uploads photos from his personal life and posts expressing his political views to his stephentrask Instagram account.

Before Fame

He grew up in a Jewish household, with both parents heavily involved in the synagogue. He attended Hebrew school and had a Bar Mitzvah during his youth.

Trivia

He received an Obie Award for his stage rendition of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, as well as a Grammy Award nomination for the film version. Its Broadway revival received the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 2014.

He is married to his husband Michael Trask.
