Stephen Sutton

About

Remembered for his Stephen's Story weblog and for his fundraising work on behalf of the Teenage Cancer Trust, this writer and activist was diagnosed with advanced colorectal cancer when he was just fifteen years old.

Before Fame

He graduated at the top of his class from Chase Terrace Technology College in Staffordshire, England; before learning that his cancer was terminal, he had submitted an application to the medical program at Cambridge University.

Trivia

At the time of diagnosis, his cancer was already Stage 3B; two years later, it had spread to the liver and lungs and was determined to be incurable.

Family Life

Born and raised in Burntwood, Staffordshire, England, he was active during his childhood and early teenage years in football (soccer) and track.

Associated With

English comedian Jason Manford was one of Sutton's major financial backers during Sutton's Teenage Cancer Trust campaign.
