Stephen James Morgan

English politician and member of the Labour Party who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Portsmouth South since the general election in 2017. Prior to being elected as MP, he served as a city councillor in Portsmouth, during which time he worked on a range of issues such housing, healthcare, and education. 

Before Fame

He studied politics and sociology at the University of Bristol and went on to earn a master's degree at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Trivia

He has been a strong supporter of the National Health Service (NHS), and has called for increased investment in public services and workers' rights. He has also been an active member of the Labour Party's Defense Team, where he has worked to promote the party's position on national security and military affairs.  

Family Life

He was born and raised in Fratton, a district in Portsmouth. He is a patron of LGBT+ Labour and is openly gay; he has supported Portsmouth Pride for many years.

Associated With

He defeated the incumbent Conservative MP Flick Drummond in a snap general election in 2017 called by Theresa May, the Prime Minister at the time.
