Her major weight gain occurred at age 22 after her parents announced they were getting a divorce. After she ended a relationship at 23, she began her weight-loss journey.

In 2018 she made waves once more after posting side-by-side pictures of her stomach five years apart showing a weight gain. She intended to point out that not all weight gain was bad, and that she acquired self-love and acceptance as well.
