Before Fame

In 1990, she received a bachelor's degree in life sciences at the Polytechnic of Central London, now the University of Westminster. After her studies, she started researching cognitive science while supervised by Peter Howell and a PhD at University College London.

She is known for her stand-up comedy performances as well as her media appearances, including her participation on the BBC Radio 4 program The Infinite Monkey Cage. In 2020, she was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to neuroscience.
