He began his career in 1931 after his brother was gored by a bull.

Trivia

As a performer he was known for his enticing, slow style. He retired from the profession in 1953. His ashes are enshrined at the Basilica de la Virgin Guadalupe. 

Family Life

He and his brother were both matadors. A bull named "Michin" killed his brother.
