Siba Mtongana

About

Multi-award winning freelance food writer, celebrity TV chef and food judge who can be seen on the Food Network's Siba's Table. She won a South African Film and Television Award for her previous cooking show, Cooking with Siba. She was a Drum magazine food editor at that time as well.

Before Fame

She earned a degree in food and consumer sciences with majors in food, food science and nutrition from Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Cape Town. There, she mentored and tutored academically struggling students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

Trivia

She has been honored by publications including Mail&Guardian newspaper, Cosmopolitan SA magazine, Destiny magazine, O Magazine and more. She was a judge on Masterchef season 1 in 2012 and one of the main judges on Chopped SA season 1 in 2014.

Family Life

She was born in East London, South Africa. She married Brian Mtongana in 2010; they have a daughter named Buhlebe.

She became a judge for Chopped South Africa while Aaron Sanchez became a judge for the American version of Chopped.
