Left-handed starting pitcher and athlete that first began his professional baseball career with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars in the year 2016. During his seven year career with Yokohama, he was twice named a NPB All-Star. He later signed a multi-year deal with the Chicago Cubs in January of 2024.
Before Fame
Prior to his professional career, he played college baseball at Komazawa University. He was later selected by Yokohama as a first round pick in the 2015 NPB draft.
Trivia
He was a member the 2019 Japanese men's national team that won gold at the WBSC Premier12 tournament. He also won a gold medal with Team Japan during the 2023 World Baseball Classic. He stands 5'10" tall and weighs approximately 175 pounds.
