Singer and songwriter who was announced as the leader of the Lapone Entertainment Japanese pop idol group JO1 on December 29, 2019. He secured a position in the group after having contended on the reality competition show Produce 101 Japan, where he finished in 11th place.

Before Fame

In 2019, he graduated from the Japan University of Economics' Department of Creative Production. Although he was largely inexperienced as a dancer, he wished to pursue a career as a singer. He travelled to Tokyo after his graduation and worked part-time jobs in restaurants until he was able to earn a spot on the reality competition series Produce 101 Japan.

Trivia

JO1 released their second EP, "Stargazer," on August 26, 2020. He wrote the lyrics for the EP's track, "My Friends."  He debuted with JO1 in March of 2020, when the group released their first EP, "Protostar," which included the hit title track "Infinity."

He has a younger brother and a younger sister.
