Japanese composer, musician, songwriter, music arranger, and music producer known for his work in Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995), Attack on Titan (2015), Shin Godzilla (2016), Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku (2020), Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War (2022), Berserk: The Golden Age Arc (2022), and Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance (2009).
Before Fame
He became one of the members of the band T-Square in 1977. He released his first album EYES in 1979. His transition into composing for anime and films occurred in the 1980s. His career began taking off after composing the music for the popular anime Neon Genesis Evangelion in 1995.
Trivia
He won the Tokyo Anime Award for Best Music for his work on Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance in 2010. Sagisu arranged a rendition of the Japanese national anthem, "Kimigayo", performed at the 2020 Summer Olympics opening ceremony by Misia.
