About
Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club from 1958 to 1971. He returned to coach the team in 1978. He frequently played as a ruck-over and was considered one of the best players for Carlton at the time. He was inducted into the Carlton Football Hall of Fame in 1989.

Family Life
He was born to Giacomo and Antonia Silvagni, who were both Italian immigrants. He was married in 1963 and was the father of four children. He was the first of three generations that played for Carlton. Jack Silvagni is his grandson.
