Professional canoe racer known for dominating the Triple Crown races for several decades. He won La Classique on 25 different occasions, for which he was honored for his impressive accomplishments in 2004. His best canoe event was in the General Clinton race, where he participated in the 70-mile marathon 29 times and only lost once. 

Before Fame

He began his canoe racing career when he was 16. He was on winning teams in the Molokai Hoe race in both 1985 and 1989. He became famous after he continued winning year after year as his career progressed.

He used to work as an electrician and welder. He is considered to be one of the greatest marathon canoe racers of all time. He is listed as one of the Paddlers of the Century by Paddling Magazine.
