About
Professional big wave surfer who, in 2010, burst onto the scene by riding a massive wave in Pe'ahi, Maui which won him the WSL XXL Biggest Wave Award. He has since won the award a second time as well as multiple Action Sports Awards for Surfer of the Year.
Before Fame
He fell in love with surfing during a family vacation to France at age 9. At 16, he left his hometown of Nuremberg, Germany and became a windsurfer.
Trivia
He is the first European surfer ever to win the WSL XXL Biggest Wave Award.
