Scott Rogers

Host of the LA-based weekend TV show The Around Town Show, and local event moderator who was famously shot and killed in a murder-suicide by his son-in-law Matthew Hodgkinson on August 27, 2014. Hodgkinson was believed to be one of many victims of sexual abuse by Rogers. He was actually on trial at the time of his death and scheduled to appear before a grand jury the day he was shot.

Before Fame

He led a performing arts/dance school in Suffolk County, England throughout the early 1990's until he fled the country to evade accusations of abuse against his young students in 1996. He managed to keep these accusations and even a prior related arrest secret when he started his new life in the United States, until the truth began to unravel just weeks before his death.

Trivia

During the summer before he was killed, federal authorities had launched an investigation into him for falsifying and providing fraudulent documents to the government for many years including his citizenship application and applications to become a foster-care and adoptive parent. 

Family Life

Matthew Hodgkinson, his son-in-law, was married to Rogers' daughter, Kimberly; but it was believed to be a fraudulent marriage in order to prevent Hodgkinson's deportation back to the UK. Hodgkinson and one other man who claimed to have been in an abusive sexual relationship with Rogers as well, lived with Rogers at the time of his death. He also had adopted and foster sons.
