Guitarist and mandolin player known as a member of the bluegrass band The Dead South. He is also a singer and songwriter. In 2012, he was one of the band's founding members. He is known for his work on their studio albums Good Company, Illusion and Doubt, and Sugar & Joy.

Trivia
He is an avid rock climber. His band has referred to itself as Mumford & Sons' Evil Twins. In 2016, his band canceled its German tour abruptly. He told CBC Radio's Morning Edition the cancellation was due to his bandmate, Colton Crawford's insomnia.
