German-born actor and director who acted opposite Clint Eastwood in the 1992 film Unforgiven. He has also appeared in Rush Hour 2, War, The Trotsky, and Nixon.

Before fame

He went into hiding with his family during WWII before moving to Canada.

Trivia

He made his directorial debut in 1998 with the black comedy feature Jerry and Tom. He played Lee Donowitz in the 1993 movie True Romance.

Family life

He married Elinor Reid in 1990. He has two children named Hannah and Sam.
