British murder victim who received global media attention after being kidnapped, raped and murdered by an active member of London's Metropolitan Police Force. Her killer, Wayne Couzens, stopped her as she was walking home to the Brixton Hill area. He accused her of breaking Covid-19 quarantine laws and staged a false arrest. After handcuffing her and forcing her into his patrol car, he drove her to Dover, where he eventually ended her life. Couzens was arrested on March 9, 2021. Her remains were discovered the following day in a wooded area. On June 8, he pleaded guilty to rape, kidnapping and murder. He was sentenced to life in prison in September of that year.

Her death caused a renewed interest in violence against women, particularly in the U.K. Several prominent politicians proposed legislation to enhance protections for women and children, but critics asserted that not enough was done. During Couzens' trial, the media reported that he had not undergone mandatory vetting or the probationary period.

She was born in Surrey and grew up in York. She attended the Fulford School and went on to study Human Geography at Durham University. She was survived by her parents and her sister.
