Sarah Kate Ellis

About

American media executive, journalist and author who launched her media career in 1995 at Conde Nast's House and Garden. She went onto work for New York magazine and In Style. Her work eventually lead her to Vogue, where she oversaw lifestyle group brands. She uses her sarahkateellis to share her family life and social activism work. Her content has helped her accrue 10,000 followers. 

Before Fame

In 1993, she graduated from Russell Sage college with a degree in sociology. She minored in women's studies. 

Trivia

She was appointed president and CEO of GLAAD (the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) in 2014. She came out as a lesbian during her final year of her university studies and began her activism in 1992. 

Family Life

She was born to Barbara and Ken Ellis in New York City. She and her brother, Spencer, were raised on Staten Island.  As a child, she attended the Staten Island Academy.
