Singer and songwriter known for her electronic dance and hip-hop-influenced pop. She wrote and produced for artists including Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears and Eminem. She wrote and played the piano on Kanye West's single "The One." She is known for singles such as "Search Party," "Colors," "Tip of My Tongue" and "Hello Hater."

Before Fame

She began singing in church and taught herself songs on piano and ukulele.

Trivia

She built herself a home studio in 2010. She collaborated with Phoenix-based producer Lifted.  In 2017, she released her debut EP, I Am Sam. Her single "Lonely Heart" hit the Billboard Dance Chart, and at one point reached the #2 spot. She has also collaborated with companies like Apple and Doritos.

Family Life

Her grandmother Kathy was a singer, pianist and composer. In the 1950s, she sang baritone in a barbershop quartet called the Copper Bells.
