Saeed Al-Owairan

About

Former winger and center midfielder who primarily played for the Al-Shabab Football Club during his 13-year professional career. He was also given an opportunity to play for the Saudi Arabian men's national team during his career. Due to his numerous clutch plays during national competitions, he is often considered one of the greatest international players ever. In 2022, there was a seven-part biographic sports documentary that was released about his life and international achievements. 

Before Fame

He officially began his professional soccer career in 1988. He signed his first club contract with Al-Shabab while only 22 years old. 

Trivia

During his international career, he played in 75 matches. Of those 75 matches, his most iconic moments came during the 1994 World Cup, where he scored seven goals and led Saudi Arabia to a top-sixteen finish, which is the highest finish in Saudi Arabia's national history.

Growing up, he lived with his family in the Riyadh, Saudi Arabia area.
