Former Olympic medalist and Brazilian libero that is often referred to as Serginho. Prior to retiring in the year 2020, he played volleyball professionally for 28 years. As a member of Team Brazil, he competed in the Summer Olympics, South American Championships, Pan American Games, World Championships and even the World Cup.
Before Fame
He first began his professional volleyball career in the year 1992 with the Brazilian-based volleyball club SE Palmeiras. After five seasons, he then joined CRET São Caetano in the year 1997.
Trivia
He has won 23 different gold medals during his professional career. In fact, he has won seven different gold medals in the South American Championships alone.

Growing up, he lived with his family in Diamante do Norte, Brazil. He now has a family of his own.
