Rutger McGroarty

About

Professional right winger and athlete for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Prior to this he was taken by the Winnipeg Jets as a first-round pick in the 2022 NHL draft. Shortly after being drafted, he decided to play college hockey at the University of Michigan. He was later given the opportunity to play for Team USA during the 2023 World Junior Championships. 

Before Fame

Prior to his professional career, he played hockey for the United States National Development Team. In the year 2022, he won a silver medal while playing with Team USA during the World U-18 Championships in Germany. 

Trivia

While serving as team captain for Team USA, he won a gold medal at the 2021 Five Nations tournament. He led his entire team in goals scored during the tournament. He stands 6'1" tall and weighs just over 200 pounds.

Family Life

Growing up, he lived with his family in Lincoln, Nebraska. He also has a younger sister named Molly.
