About

Widely considered one of the greatest Australian rules football players of all time. He is universally regarded as the greatest player to ever play with Port Adelaide Football Club and was active from the late 1960s to the 1980s. In the 1980s and 1990s he coached.

Before Fame

He joined Port Adelaide in 1968 where he played with them until 1978. He joined North Melbourne for a single season in 1979 before returning to Port Adelaide in 1980. 

Trivia

He is the only player to ever have won four Magarey Medals. He is one of four Australia rules football players to have a statue at Adelaide Oval.

Family Life

He was born in Berri, South Australia. He was the fourth of six children to Albert and Doreen Ebert. He was married to Dian Lehmann and they had three children Tammie, Ben, and Brett.
