Mexican artist known as one of the most prolific painters of his generation. He is known for abstract painting and childlike images. He has exhibited at the French Institute of Latin America in Mexico City and the Acevedo Art Gallery in San Diego, California.
Before Fame
He attended the Benito Juárez Autonomous University in Oaxaca. He studied painting and screen printing. His talent for ceramics led him to study in Portland, Oregon.
Trivia
In 1985, he received the First Prize for Plastic Arts at the House of Culture of Oaxaca. In 2017, his painting El gran Merlín was sold at Morton Auctions, Monte Athos in Mexico for $21,131 USD.
Family Life
His uncle was the painter José Zúñiga. His father was also an artist.
