Famous for her nearly three-decade career with the National Ballet of Cuba, this Prima Ballerina performed all over the world and danced to great critical acclaim in Giselle, Coppellia, The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and other famous ballets.
Before Fame
She trained at Cuba's National School of the Arts and also studied at the Provincial School of Ballet.
Trivia
In 1994, she left her native country and became a dancer at Madrid, Spain's Teatro Albeniz. She later taught at universities and dance studios in Spain, Norway, and the United States.
Family Life
She was married twice: to performer Jorge Luis Alvarez and author Eliseo Alberto. She had one child: a daughter named Paula Roque.
