Before Fame

Before he was a published author, he worked construction, soldiered, was a park ranger, and lived in the hills of Pennsylvania. As a kid, he carried water to houses lacking plumbing, and played guitar.

He was born in Buffalo, New York and grew up in Pennsylvania.
