Roman Bravo-Young

About

Wrestler who has defeated the odds due to his difficult upbringing, becoming a well-known name in collegiate wrestling. He was the the NCAA Division I national champion in 2021 and 2022. His style of wrestling is folkstyle. 

Before Fame

He was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and attended Sunnyside High School where he began wrestling in the varsity team as a freshman. He was undefeated all four years of high school. He began wrestling for Penn State University in 2018, and in 2021 was named Penn State Athlete of the Year. 

Trivia

He had a documentary released in 2023 titled RBY: Straight Outta Tucson. In 2023, it was announced that he would be returning to Penn State University for his last season of wrestling at the collegiate level. Family Life

He was raised by his mother, Sarah M. Bravo-Cruz. His grandfather, Mike Bravo, was one of his first wrestling trainers.

He has been known to train with MMA fighter Dominick Cruz. His coach at Penn State University was Cael Sanderson.
