About
Professional forward and left wing who played for the Kontinental Hockey League team, Salavat Yulaev Uva. He became a first round pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2020 NHL Draft. After being diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2022, he was forced to miss the 2022-23 season for treatment. After returning to his hometown to be with family, he passed away in August 2023.
Before Fame
He began playing youth hockey in his hometown club, Salavat Yulaev Ufa's youth hockey system. He then played with junior affiliates Tolpar Ufa and Toros Neftekamsk before making his Kontinental Hockey League debut with Salavat Yulaev Ufa in 2019.
Trivia
He was named in the WJC18 All-Star Team at the 2019 International Ice Hockey Federation U18 World Championship. His international U18 career resulted in a bronze and a silver medal, in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Family Life
His father, Ruslan Amirov, was a top executive at Salstek, a notable Russian glass manufacturing company. He had one sister.
