American film and television producer, director and screenwriter known for producing and directing Curb Your Enthusiasm and Lenny Bruce: Swear to Tell the Truth. Before Fame

In 1978, he took film production courses at  Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California. There, he worked on producing his first film, The Marx Brothers in a Nutshell, which was later broadcast on PBS in 1982, and became "one of the highest-rated programs in PBS history."
