American serial killer known as the "Truck Stop Killer" who preyed on hitchhikers and sex workers. He was convicted of first-degree murder in 1994 and sentenced to a life sentence in prison.
Before Fame
He joined the Marine Corp. in 1964 but was dishonorably discharged after being involved in a robbery. He became a long-haul trucker and began murdering people in the 1970s.
Trivia
He is suspected of having over 50 murder and rape victims over a span of 15 years. He is known to have converted the sleeper cabin in his truck into a torture dungeon.
Family Life
He was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa. His father died of suicide awaiting trial for molesting a 12-year-old. He was married to three women. He had a son with his first wife.
Associated With
The "Truck Stop Killer" was referenced in the film Midnight in the Switchgrass, which starred Megan Fox and Bruce Willis.
