About
Former NFL fullback who played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1972 to 1983, winning Super Bowl XII with the team in 1978. He was previously a phenom at the University of Houston, setting school records for rushing yards in a season and most consecutive 100-yard games.
Before Fame
Despite many impressive performances, the University of Houston was the only Division I team which offered him a scholarship out of Galilee High School.
Trivia
He was nicknamed "The Human Bowling Ball" due to his unusual leg strength, with thighs measuring 44 inches in circumference.

His son, Reggie Newhouse, played wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals in 2004 and 2005.
