American serial rapist and spree killer who was best recognized for being active in New York State in the early 1970s. After he committed several rapes, he went on an 18-day killing spree, stabbing four people to death. Three witnesses escaped and sought police, spurring a 12-day statewide manhunt that was, at the time, the largest in New York State history.
