American race car driver who won eight consecutive NASCAR National Modified Championships from 1978 to 1985. His life was cut tragically short as a result of a crash sustained while practicing for the Winn-Dixie 500 Modified Feature.

He was successful street racer before making his stock car racing debut in 1962.
Trivia
Despite passing away, he had enough of a points lead to posthumously win the 1985 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.

He was the father of six children.
