American sculptor who became internationally renowned for his public sculptures. He won the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Sculpture Center. His work has been displayed over 10 times at the Museum of Modern Art. 

Before Fame

He studied at the Junior School of the Art Institute and later at the Art Institute of Chicago.

He completed more public sculptures than any other artist in the country. He has been quoted, "Imagining a world without racial hierarchy, I work as if race did not exist."
